The Hollow Rock – "The Eye of Biokovo" watching over Brela
Perched high on the steep cliffs of mighty Biokovo, far above Brela, lies one of the most recognizable symbols of this mountain – Šuplja stina, popularly known as The Eye of Biokovo.
This fascinating natural phenomenon, "sculpted" by the patient hand of nature within the Biokovo karst, never ceases to inspire awe. This opening in the rock creates a magnificent natural frame, offering a stunning view of Brela and the Adriatic blue. It truly feels as if the mountain itself, through this eye, is carefully watching over everything happening at its feet.
What you should know before you go
A view to remember: this is one of the most photographed spots on the mountain—ideal for those wanting to capture the unbreakable bond between the mountain and the sea.
