Swimming marathon "Around the Brela Stone": Traditional cup Final in Brela
The Swimming Marathon "Around the Brela Stone" ("Oko Kamena Brela") is a traditional sports event that gathers professionals and recreational swimmers every year in mid-September.
This event, whose start usually takes place on the plateau in front of the Soline Hotel, represents an exceptional sporting and tourist attraction.
🏆 Dalmatian Cup Final
Brela is the proud host of the final round of the Dalmatian Long-Distance Swimming Cup, a competition series that includes races in the Dalmatian counties. The "Around the Brela Stone" Marathon concludes the competitive season, which gives the event a special sporting significance.
The course and categories
Swimmers compete on a course that stretches along the Brela coast, with the turning point being the Brela Stone (Kamen Brela), one of the most recognizable symbols of the Adriatic.
Two races are usually swum:
Main race (longer distance): points are awarded for the overall standing of the Dalmatian Cup.
Recreational race (shorter distance): open to amateurs and all those keen on swimming.
Both races offer a unique experience of swimming with a view of the impressive Biokovo mountain and the Dalmatian islands.
