Brela climbing area: discover a climber's paradise with a sea view!

Are you looking for an active holiday and a challenge? The "Brela" sport climbing area offers a perfect blend of adrenaline and beautiful surroundings. Enjoy the peace, silence, and an incredible view of the sea and islands, far from the summer crowds.

📍 Location and how to get there
The climbing area is located at the foot of Biokovo mountain and is easily recognizable by a large Croatian checkerboard (šahovnica) painted on the rock (directly above the "Šampion" restaurant).

You can reach the starting point by car or on foot by following the signs from Gornji Kričak (DVD Brela).

Detailed instructions from the starting point - DVD Brela:
Follow the asphalt road from DVD Brela towards the church of st. George (sv. Juraj).
At the church do not turn, but continue straight uphill on the macadam road.
After a short but steep climb (approx. 100 m), turn left (follow the signpost).
Continue along the flat and wide fire road. After about 1 km of walking through beautiful olive groves, you will reach the foot of the cliff.

🧗 Rock characteristics: precision with a sea view
This climbing site offers a high rock face with diverse routes that provide a unique climbing experience above the blue Adriatic:
Difficulty: A wide range of routes – from easy sections for beginners to more demanding intermediate routes.
Climbing style: Dominated by slabs that require a high level of precision and endurance.
Atmosphere: An ideal location if you are looking for peace – there is a high probability that you will enjoy the climbing and the panoramic view of the Adriatic all by yourself!
Interesting fact: The potential of this location was discovered by Austrian climber Christian Hacker, who, along with his friends, equipped almost all the routes.

Renovation: The climbing area was completely renovated and equipped in 2019 in cooperation with the Municipality of Brela, Brela Tourist Board, and Biokovo Nature Park.
Safety: The use of adequate and certified climbing equipment is mandatory. Climbing is at your own risk.
